GTA 6 Extended Look Hits 31.1 Million Netflix Views in Four Days
GTA 6 Netflix views have reached 31.1 million in just four days. Rockstar Games’ 27-minute Extended Look became Netflix’s most-watched English-language title for the week and ranked No. 1 in 87 countries. Rockstar Games has once again shown the huge popularity of GTA 6. The game’s latest Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look has reached 31.1 million views on Netflix in just four days. The 27-minute presentation also became the most-watched title on Netflix’s English-language film chart for the week. The numbers are especially impressive because the GTA 6 preview had only a short window on Netflix before the weekly chart period ended.
Netflix says the GTA 6 Extended Look reached No. 1 in 87 of the 93 countries tracked by the service. The presentation was released on Netflix on August 27. It then remained available during the charting period through August 30.
This put GTA 6 ahead of other major entertainment releases on the platform. The Whisper Man, for example, recorded 23.2 million Netflix views during the same period.
That makes the GTA 6 result even more notable. The game preview was not a traditional movie or TV show. It was a promotional gameplay presentation for an upcoming video game.
Rockstar did not keep the presentation exclusive to Netflix for long. The GTA 6 Extended Look appeared on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel six hours after its Netflix premiere. The YouTube version has since passed 17 million views.
However, Netflix and YouTube do not calculate views in exactly the same way. Netflix’s viewing metric is based on total hours watched divided by the runtime of the title. Because of this, the two numbers should not be treated as a direct one-to-one comparison.
The Netflix release was an unusual move for Rockstar Games. Most major GTA reveals traditionally arrive through platforms such as YouTube and Rockstar’s own website. This time, Rockstar gave Netflix a six-hour window before releasing the same presentation more widely.
The strategy gave GTA 6 access to a much larger entertainment audience. It also helped turn the gameplay presentation into a major streaming event rather than just another gaming video. The result suggests that the GTA 6 name has enough reach to attract viewers outside the traditional gaming audience.
The 27-minute presentation provided the biggest look yet at GTA 6 gameplay. Rockstar showed Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos in different parts of Vice City and the wider state of Leonida. The footage included driving, shootouts, police chases, robberies, character interactions and several open-world activities.
The presentation was captured entirely from PlayStation 5 gameplay, giving players a closer look at the game’s visuals and world. The Extended Look also highlighted how Jason and Lucia work together during criminal activities. Players saw more of the game’s open-world design, character animations, vehicles and improved police encounters.
The Netflix numbers are another sign of the enormous attention surrounding GTA 6. The game has already generated huge interest through previous trailers, screenshots and gameplay information. The latest Extended Look has now added another major audience milestone.
Getting 31.1 million Netflix views in roughly four days shows that people were willing to watch a long-form GTA 6 presentation even before the game itself launched. The 17 million-plus YouTube views add another large audience to the same release.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to release on November 19, 2026. The game is planned for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. With the release date getting closer, Rockstar is expected to reveal more information about GTA 6 before launch. The huge response to the Extended Look suggests that every major GTA 6 update will continue to attract significant attention.
The Netflix result does not tell us how many copies GTA 6 will sell. However, it does show the scale of public interest surrounding Rockstar’s next open-world game. The Extended Look became Netflix’s most-watched title for the week and reached No. 1 in 87 of 93 tracked countries. It also collected more than 17 million views on YouTube. For Rockstar, this is a strong start to the next phase of GTA 6 marketing. The real test will come when the game finally launches in November.
GTA 6 has already become one of the biggest entertainment events of 2026. The Extended Look reached 31.1 million Netflix views in four days and topped the platform’s English-language film chart in 87 countries. It then continued its run on YouTube, where the official Rockstar Games upload has passed 17 million views. With GTA 6 still months away from release, these numbers show just how much attention Rockstar’s next Grand Theft Auto game is generating.
